CBD infused tea that's non-psychoactive, non-GMO, and non-results-day-nerves. Our CBD tea bags contain broad spectrum CBD, natural ingredients, and regular tea leaves.
Broad Spectrum CBD
We use hemp-derived, broad spectrum cannabidiol. This water soluble CBD contains zero THC, meaning it's non-psychoactive and won't get you high. Instead, it promotes calmness and may even reduce anxiety and stress.
We love tea in all shapes and forms. Enjoy a high-caffeine energy tea blend when you need a lift or slowly sip our regular caffeine tea with water soluble CBD extract when you need a calmer tea session. Each serving contains 60mg of caffeine - half of what our energy teas provide.
High quality teas require high quality ingredients. Our CBD tea is available as fan favorite Blue Lady, filled with smooth black tea, juicy orange, lemon, and passionfruit flavors, and packed into plastic-free tea bags.
The rejuvenating benefits of CBD meets the goal-smashing energy of Zest high caffeine tea.
Each cup provides 135-150mg of caffeine, 100mg of L-Theanine, and 15mg of hemp-based water soluble CBD. Zero THC, naturally. It's an energy boosting, focus enhancing formula with a side of chill vibes.
Loose Leaf Tea
Both hemp-based CBD teas are in loose leaf format. Add a teaspoon or two of tea leaves and our non-GMO organic ingredients to your infuser and brew on-the-go.
Choose between two of our highest rated tea varieties. For a green tea that'll put a spring in your step, opt for Superberry Samba. If you're craving a comforting black tea, then try Blue Lady instead.
Taking CBD regularly comes with some great potential health benefits. CBD has shown potential for maintaining the state of homeostasis, keeping your overall health in good shape, and having anti-inflammatory effects. CBD has even more benefits that scientists are eager to explore.
At Zest, there are three health benefits that we are particularly interested in.
CBD improves cognition, enabling you to focus, learn, and remember more efficiently during the day. As CBD has neuroprotective properties, it is also being studied as a therapeutic treatment for neurodegenerative conditions including Alzheimer's.
CBD can provide relief for anxiety, especially for those with anxiety disorders. Similarly, CBD is linked to reducing depression and stress in general. To benefit from these properties, choose a THC-free product like Zest CBD Tea.
Studies have found that CBD could be a viable therapeutic treatment for insomnia, REM sleep behavior disorders, and sleepiness during the daytime. Our teas are also a natural source of L-Theanine, which is linked to better sleep quality and reduced stress-related symptoms.
How to Drink CBD Tea
You can treat our water soluble CBD green tea or black tea just as you would any of our high caffeine teas. No special method needed.
How fast the tea brews will depend on your water temperature and how much you stir the tea. For a well-balanced cup, we recommend stirring the tea rather than pressing it against the side of your cup. Let it brew for a minimum of 3 minutes to ensure the caffeine and CBD have infused into the water.
- Place one tea bag in a mug, or 1 tsp of loose leaf in an infuser.
- Pour over hot water and let it brew for 3-5 minutes.
- Remove the spent leaf or tea bag, and sip slowly to enjoy.
Frequently Asked Questions
- What is CBD Tea?
CBD oil based teas are made with both CBD and tea, sold as loose leaf or in tea bag format. Cannabidiol (CBD) is a chemical compound produced naturally in hemp plants, more commonly known as the cannabis plant.
But CBD is not the same as marijuana. In fact, CBD is just one chemical compound from the hemp plant. Certain types of CBD, namely broad spectrum CBD and CBD isolate, do not contain the psychoactive components that get you "high".
So, CBD tea is a beverage made with tea leaves that have been infused with CBD products for enhanced health benefits.
- Will CBD tea get me high?
Our broad spectrum CBD will not get you high. The component of cannabis that creates the psychoactive effects (changes to the way you think, feel, remember, and concentrate) is tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), which is removed in broad spectrum CBD.
THC binds to cannabinoid receptors in the nervous system to create these effects. Cannabidiol (CBD), however, doesn't bind to receptors. Instead, it stimulates the natural endocannabinoid system in your nervous system to produce more cannabinoids naturally and slow how they are broken down. As a result, you may experience the health benefits of CBD, such as reducing anxiety and pain relief.
Purified CBD with less than 0.3% THC is federally legal across the USA.
- How is Zest CBD Tea tested?
We have our CBD tea regularly tested by a third-party laboratory. Their systematic review analyzes the cannabinoid profile and potency of our teas, confirming the max concentration/dose of both CBD and trace amounts of THC per serving. This confirms that our CBD teas have less than the legal limit for THC (0.3%). You can view our test certificate.
- How much caffeine is in Zest CBD Tea?
Our regular caffeine CBD tea provides 60mg of caffeine per serving, while our high caffeine other teas provide a higher dose - 135mg for our Superberry Samba blend and 150mg for our Blue Lady blend. CBD teas from other brands will contain less caffeine, usually around 50mg for a standard black tea, for example.
Don't forget that it's not just how much CBD and caffeine that's in tea that matters. Our teas also provide a natural source of amino acid L-Theanine, which promotes calmness, focus, and stimulates creativity. This is what sets apart tea from other highly caffeinated beverages.
- How often should I drink CBD tea?
How often you should consume CBD tea depends on how much is in your tea, as it varies between CBD tea brands, and your reasons for consuming CBD. It also depends on your tolerance for both caffeine and CBD. Many people like to supplement with low doses of CBD daily, to support and regulate the natural endocannabinoid system.
Consuming two cups of Zest CBD tea in a day - one in the morning for focus and one in the evening for relaxation - totals 30mg of hemp-based CBD and up to 300mg of caffeine consumed within 24 hours.
The Food and Drug Administration recommends a limit of 400mg of caffeine per day, but doesn't currently give a recommended dose for CBD. Experts usually recommend starting small, with around 10mg of CBD per day, and increasing as needed. Studies have found much higher doses of cannabidiol oil to be well-received too, with minor side effects (nausea, headache, drowsiness, etc.) at doses above 1,500mg.
- When should I drink CBD tea?
You can drink CBD infused teas or consume CBD products at any time of the day. If you are drinking CBD teas to aid sleep or settle anxiety, you may want to consume the tea at least 30 minutes before you need the effects to kick in. The effects of the CBD oil can last for up to 10 hours.
Caffeine will start to kick in roughly 45 minutes after consumption and the effects will last for around 5 hours.
Compared to CBD tincture and topical oils, ingested water soluble CBD can take longer to kick in.
- What happens when you drink Zest CBD tea?
Our CBD tea is not the same as pure hemp tea, whole spectrum CBD, or CBD isolate. We use broad spectrum CBD extract which contains all the natural cannabinoids, amino acids, and nutrients from the hemp plant, but without THC.
Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is the psychoactive component of CBD, so by removing it we can enjoy the non-psychoactive and calming properties without the high. As a result, CBD tea may leave you feeling calmer, focused and less anxious. Unlike calming herbs in a herbal tea, our Zest CBD Tea also provides a source of caffeine, for that energized and awake feeling.
So, when you drink Zest CBD tea, you may feel calmer, more focused, and ready to take on whatever life throws at you.
